Supporting Your Pet
Pet Owner Support Services
We know that caring for a pet is more than just scheduling checkups—it’s about having the right resources, guidance, and support at every stage of their life. That’s why we offer a variety of pet owner services designed to give you peace of mind and confidence in caring for your companions. Our team is here to answer questions, provide support, and connect you with resources so you don’t feel overwhelmed about your pet’s care.
Microchipping for Cats & Dogs
A lost pet is a frightening situation with often devastating consequences. Do your best to protect your pet and get them microchipped. Unlike collars and tags, which can break or fall off, a microchip provides lifelong identification. It’s a one-time procedure that offers lasting peace of mind, helping your pet to find their way back to you. The microchip registers your pet with a unique identification number, which is filed in a database with your contact information.
How Microchipping Can Find Your Pet
If your pet is lost, the microchip can be scanned by animal control officers, at shelters, and at veterinary hospitals in the U.S. and in many foreign countries. Once scanned, the facility can look up your pet’s identification number for your contact information, reuniting you with your lost pet.

Health Certificates for Your Pet
If you’re planning to travel with your pet, Salmon Creek Veterinary Clinic can help ensure an easy travel. Our veterinarians provide both interstate and international health certificates to ensure your companion meets the requirements for safe travel.
Only USDA-accredited veterinarians can issue international health certificates, and these must be endorsed by the state’s USDA Veterinary Services office.
We cannot assume responsibility for ensuring all the requirements are met for your particular situation, and cannot be held responsible for quarantine, denial of entry, or costs incurred due to unfulfilled requirements for your pet.
Since each country has its own entry rules, we strongly recommend reviewing your destination’s pet travel requirements before your appointment. For the most accurate information, contact the consulate or embassy of the country you’ll be visiting. You can find useful resources here: Traveling with pets.
End-of-Life Planning
For many pet owners, thinking about their pet’s final days is difficult and emotional. Our pets are a part of our family. It is this strong bond, born from years of loyal companionship, that makes this time particularly hard to bear.
At Salmon Creek Veterinary Clinic, we encourage pet owners to begin these conversations before they become urgent. Our team is here to guide you with compassion, discussing options such as cremation services, helping you make important decisions in advance, and ensuring your wishes are added to your pet’s medical record. Taking these steps early can ease the burden when the time comes, reducing stress and strain.
In the days, weeks, or months leading up to your pet’s final chapter, you can count on our veterinarians for support, understanding, and clear information to help you make the best decisions at every stage. With sensitivity and care, our entire team is committed to walking beside you through this difficult process.
