  • Electric shock
  • Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Signs of heatstroke (excessive panting, drooling, lethargy)

When Your Pet Arrives in an Emergency

When you arrive with your pet during an emergency, we work quickly to ensure the safety and severity of their condition. Here are the steps we take to ensure your pet’s emergency is addressed adequately:

Immediate Triage
Upon arrival, the veterinary team quickly assesses your pet’s condition to determine how critical it is. Pets with life-threatening issues (such as difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, or collapse) are seen right away.

The priority is to stabilize your pet. This may include providing oxygen, controlling bleeding, administering IV fluids, or managing pain.

Once stable, the veterinarian may recommend tests such as X-rays, bloodwork, or ultrasounds to identify the underlying problem.

After diagnosis, the veterinarian will explain the situation, discuss treatment options, and outline estimated costs. Depending on the emergency, treatment may involve medication, wound care, surgery, or hospitalization.

If your pet needs to stay at the clinic, they will be closely monitored by the veterinary team to ensure their condition improves.

Throughout the process, the vet will keep you informed, offering updates, guidance, and reassurance so you understand what’s happening and what to expect.
